Cinema Bandi Review

Cast: Vikas Vasistha, Sandeep Varanasi, Rag Mayur, Uma YG
Music: Satyavolu Sirish, Varun Reddy

In last couple of years, small budget films like Pelli Choopulu, Agent Sai Srinivasa, C/O Kancharapalem and a few more became big hits among the Telugu audience. There is a news reel about it which is watched by Veera (Vikas Vasistha), an auto driver who is living in a village. He had recently found someone had left a video camera inside his auto. At first he plans to sell it off, but after watching the news reel he decides to take a film and make millions of money.

He convinces his photographer friend, Ganapathi (Sandeep Varanasi) to be the film’s cinematographer. Together they go on scouting for cast for the film. The scouting scenes and the following film shooting scenes are so hilarious that your stomach might ache laughing. One of the beautiful aspect of the film is how it projects Veera. He is someone who thinks he is lucky to have found the camera. Initially he goes on emphasizing on how he will make the film and earn millions of money, but as film progresses you can see he loving the filmmaking process and his urge to complete the film properly.

The actor Vikas Visistha brings out the earnest struggles of the character. Similar to how the entire village wish for him to complete the film, we also start wishing him to finish the film. The film is filled with amazing performances, be it the always ready Ganapathi or the upcoming ‘Mahesh Babu’ a.k.a Maridesh Babu (Rag Mayut) or the fiercy Manga (Uma YG) leave a lasting impact on you.

When they start filming it, they take a static frame mid shot scene. But as the film progress, their passion grows and we see the efforts that they put into making. There is such a heart-warming scene where a group of villages come together to help them shot a scene in a particular way. A film that starts hilariously turns emotional and finally leaves a heart-warming feel at the end.

Verdict: Everyone is a filmmaker..at heart and this film captures all our hearts!
